Chapter Announces Second Annual Photo Contest

We are pleased to announce the second annual Laurentian Chapter Photo Contest. Many good photographs have been taken on Laurentian Chapter outings featuring the participants, their outdoor activities, and the spectacular landscapes of the Adirondack region. Winning and admired photographs from the first annual contest can be found in this news item: 2009 Photo Contest Results.

This second contest invites photos taken between November 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010. Eligible are ADK members, who may submit photos taken anywhere, and non-members, who may submit photos taken during chapter outings. All trip photos used in publicity during the contest will be entered automatically. Entrants must allow the photos to be used in chapter publicity.

For ease of handling, digital photos are preferred, but hardcopy versions are acceptable. If your photos are originally digital, please submit the highest resolution you have. If they are originally film and you have a scanned version, you may submit the latter with the possibility of using negatives for final printing.

The criteria are: technical quality; artistic expression; and the extent to which the photo conveys the chapter’s mission of conservation, education, and responsible outdoor recreation. First, second and third prizes will be awarded, along with recognition at the chapter’s annual fall potluck meeting in November.
